Hello Everyone.

bare with me as i draw up plans for this event so it will take some doing.

Me and Og-Viper was chating about the new battlefields when this idea hit us both.

Like 1 of the new battlefields, we have a Rebel Space Station and an Imperial Star Destoryer in DeepSpace.

Rules in the battlefield is to destory the other sides bunkers before they destory yours.

well this got me thinking maybe we could do something along these lines in DeepSpace.

Only the Correct bombing ships can take down the ISD or Station:
B-Wing and Y-Wing only able to take down the ISD as they are classed as bomber types.
Tie Bombers and maybe the Oppy can take down the Rebel station.

The Catch would be that you will need to Defend your base from being attacked and attack the othersides base while defending your bombers also.

the Idea's are endless when it comes to something like this and it would be a nice idea to maybe put this to a test 1 weekend or a weekday for those that want to take part but can't because they have work or something on weekends.

If you can give some imput if you like the idea so far and maybe want to add to it then please feel free to, more feedback the better and will help when the event is set and ready togo.

^^ A variant of this (it also includes the kill the flagship with it) is actually the first Starsider space event I've personally attended (as a gunner...and yes, I was like a kid in a candy store). The faction gets x amount of points killing the ISD/Freedom Station (and another x amount of points killing the factional gunship). Requires a lot of reinforcement of rules and to a lot of extent, heavy numbers, to make this work but ultimately, the trick is both sides have to be even out cuz out of the balance can really affect the odds of one faction against another even more so than Sunday PVP.

that sounds like a great idea for sure, giving some sense to what we're fighting for up there... give us a goal etc..

I just fear one thing : the lag ... defending the ISD once it's under attack... that will be a pure hell, and i suppose the freedom station will be the same.
2nd point, if only Bombers can attack the stations, i will NEED to actually remove that Fire & Brimstone mod... (and replace the nebulon B frigate by the actual freedom station, and recover the targetable sub-system ...)

Same here Uri /shrug

Regarding the lag it could cause on both stations, those could maybe be replaced by simply putting an YE-4 and a Rebel GB in DS to defend by both factions, and of course with a crew on board.
It wouldn't be so epic but at least it could be fun for everybody.

Just a tought you know.

maybe we can start with an event including Command Ships ...

Let's say both Rebs and Imps have to make a gunship a capital ship.
Each fleet has to provide both an escort and an attack squadron.

The goal is to shoot the opposite gunship down. That would give 1 point. There would be a time limit, say 2h for the whole event ... and the winner would be the side gathering the biggest amount of gunship kills during the allowed time.
No matter how many fighters are still up at the end or not, the point is granted the surviving gunship's side.
To make it a bit more interesting, we can state a rule where only a certain type of fighter can actually attack the gunships (like B-Wings and TIE-Bombers). The other fighters would be here to protect their attack ships.
That will probably sound familiar to the people used to see starsider's events, but i think it's a good idea, with a real goal for the fleet, and multiple tactics that can be imagined.
Problems will be about numbers, cause to make it work well we'd need 2 groups for each side (1 for the gunship, and 1 for the fighters) We maybe can decrease a bit the required amount of people if we use POBs instead of GB, but i'm not sure how it would work.

For removing of lag while shooting on the ISD/Station you need the F&B mod, but without the useless Frigate. For that you need the modified PvP version of Aliyaah :P

I use this mod partialy. I have removed lags from nebulas and shoots vs shields. But i have not added lag for the higher 3D detail's of the fighters. I use the SWG original fighter models. In PvP i don't have even time for enjoying the higher detail lvl anyway ^^

i may add this mod-mod soon on this post
